Bong History

Bong is a word adapted from Thai that refers to a cylindrical tube, pipe or container usually cut from bamboo that is used for smoking purpose.

Bongs are in vogue from past several centuries and have been in use in places like Laos, Thailand and Africa. This word ‘bong’ was first found in a Thai-English dictionary published during 1944.

The homemade bong was commonly made from bamboo and used by commoners but the more elegant and stylish bongs were made of metal and used by the urbanites, nobilities and other Chinese merchants. The metal used for making the bong was bronze or brass and the higher versions used silver which was embellished with jewels. Today we get a variety of Cheap Glass Bongs which serve the same purpose of smoking.
